Looking Glass Arts Students film
a Benefit Concert for the
Makindu Children's Centre in Kenya
December 2, 2006
| On December 2, 2006 the band "Crazy Laughing Monkey Heads of Doom", made up of Alexander Dawson High School students, hosted a Benefit Concert for AIDS orphans in Kenya. |
|
|
The event, which was held at the Alexander Dawson School, raised almost $8,000 for the Makindu Children's Program, which is a non-profit organization based in Oregon that runs the Makindu Children’s Centre in a rural region of eastern Kenya.
| Five Looking Glass Arts high school students video-taped the concert and interviews. |

The evening's footage was edited by high school students at our Final Cut Pro Editing Workshop on February 3, 2007. The band intends to submit the concert's film to the International Film Festival to be held at the Alexander Dawson School in the Spring. The footage may also become part of a documentary on the Makindu Children's Program.
