Sliding-Scale Recording Retreats
“Music has the power to make me feel good like nothing else does. It gives me some peace for a while. Takes me back to who I really am.”
The recording space is in LGA’s barn. The unfinished, rustic and majestic space is engineered by Rashaan Carter. He has spent years finding the sweet spots in the barn. The barn is equipped for acoustic, amplified or electronic sessions. Because of the nature of the space, full isolation is impossible– recordings pick up the sounds of the natural world around it. We do not have a piano, yet.
PLAN A: $2000/4 days
PLAN B: $3000/4 days
PLAN C: $4000/4 days
*All rates are negotiable. Please write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in recording in the barn.
The LGA sliding-scale retreats were established in direct response to the impact of the ongoing pandemic on musicians’ lives. LGA recognizes these challenges and seeks to support musicians in their effort to create and document their work.
The sliding-scale recording retreats are 3 nights and 4 days and long, inclusive of arrival and departure days. Our sliding-scale residencies include: A private bedroom in the Farm House (with a shared bathroom), three meals a day prepared by the host, and self-directed recording time in the rustic barn studio with the recording engineer.
